An official delegation from the Church of Rome is visiting the Ecumenical Patriarchate to attend the feast of St. Andrew the First-Called Apostle, founder of the Church of Constantinople, on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
The Papal Delegation, led by Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, and including Archbishop Marek Solczynski, Apostolic Nuncio to Turkey and Azerbaijan, Archbishop Flavio Pace, Secretary of the Dicastery, and Fr. Andrea Palmieri, Under-Secretary of the Dicastery, arrived at the Phanar on Thursday afternoon, November 28, 2024.
The Delegation was received by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The meeting was also attended by Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, President of the Synodal Commission for Dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Kirini, a member of the same Commission, and Grand Ecclesiarch Aetius, Director of the Ecumenical Patriarch’s Private Office.
