On the Sunday of Orthodoxy and the Restoration of the Holy Icons, 9 March 2025, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Church of the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple of the Renowned Community of Stavrodromi, presided over by the Hierarchical Head of the Community, Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches.
Father John from the Church of Antioch also participated in the Divine Liturgy.
Before the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the faithful received the icons according to custom and carried them in a procession around the church.
In his address, Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches spoke about the importance of the feast day and the strength of Orthodoxy, while he did not fail to mention the historic victory of the restoration of icons after a period of conflict and discord.
The day was attended by a large crowd, including many families from Antioch, who have now settled in Constantinople after the deadly earthquake that struck their region of origin.
Finally, the President of the Community of Antioch, Mr. Fanti, thanked both Metropolitan Andreas and the Renowned Community of Stavrodromi for the support and cooperation that has been offered to them, as well as for the hospitable embrace that they have offered to our affected brothers and sisters.
