Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia welcomed Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, and Nikola Selaković, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade.
Patriarch Porfirije highlighted the spiritual ties between the two peoples, based on their shared heritage and Orthodox faith, which have been reinforced by common historical challenges and victories over the centuries. He emphasized the importance of contemporary culture being rooted in spiritual heritage and historical roots for the identity and development of nations.
Lyubimova expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and mentioned that her visit to Serbia coincided with the opening of the Fifth Russian-Serbian Cultural Forum with Minister Selaković. The forum focused on preserving cultural heritage in Russia and Serbia, reflecting the nations’ commitment to safeguarding their historical monuments for future generations.
Minister Selaković emphasized that enhancing cultural ties is a cornerstone of the bilateral relations between Russia and Serbia, serving as a strong bond between the two peoples and countries.
