It is said that all good things must come to an end, and this was the case for our in-laws who had to find a new rental after their landlord decided to sell their current apartment. The process of finding a new place to live proved to be challenging due to the limited availability of rentals and high prices in the market.
Despite the stress of house-hunting and packing, they also had to deal with the furniture they had accumulated over the years. Instead of leaving the excess furniture behind, they made an effort to find new homes for the items by reaching out to local community groups and organizations.
After receiving various responses and suggestions, they were able to successfully find new owners for most of the furniture. However, two pieces remained unsold, including a large breakfront and a sleek corner curio. As they were preparing to move, they decided to keep the corner curio for their new apartment.
On the day of their move, a neighbor offered to take the large breakfront for their daughter’s upcoming wedding, making it a perfect match and providing a happy ending to the furniture’s journey.
Through their efforts and the help of their community, our in-laws were able to find new homes for all their excess furniture and start fresh in their new rental.
