A few years back, I encountered a funny situation when I found my two-year-old son Michael with red lipstick smeared around his eye. It was a result of him playing with his mother’s makeup without my knowledge, and for a moment, it looked like he had been in a fight.
While dealing with the lipstick incident was amusing, it made me appreciate the simplicity of being a man. I don’t have to worry about applying makeup before stepping out or discussing beauty products with friends.
One benefit of being a man is the ease of getting ready for events like weddings. Unlike women who go through a lengthy process of selecting and wearing dresses, men can simply put on a tie and be good to go.
Although I rarely use makeup, I remember using a coverup before my wedding to hide a few pimples. It was a temporary fix, much like how we often hide our vulnerabilities in life.
Social media often portrays a perfect version of people’s lives, creating a facade of happiness and glamour. It’s important to remember that these representations are often superficial and not a true reflection of reality.
While cover-up can be helpful in certain situations, it’s essential to be honest with ourselves and not shy away from life’s challenges. Pretending to have a perfect life does not benefit anyone in the long run.
On a lighter note, I found that baby oil works wonders in removing lipstick from a toddler’s face.
