Metropolitan Ambrosios of Korea and Exarch of Japan, along with Father Yohan Park, presided over the wedding of Dionysios Sung-Dong Kim and Eugenia Hyun-Ah Kim on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the church of St. Dionysios Archbishop of Aegina from Zakynthos. This was the first wedding in the newly established parish.
The groom, who was baptized in December on the feast of St. Dionysios, was previously non-religious. The bride, from an Orthodox Christian family, was baptized in infancy.
In his address, the Metropolitan emphasized the importance of marriage and family in society, congratulating the couple on choosing a church wedding to begin their journey together with God’s blessing.
Following the wedding, the Great Vespers were celebrated, followed by the Service of Matins and the Divine Liturgy the next day. During the sermon, the Metropolitan highlighted the significance of participating in the sacramental life of the Church, particularly in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
The newlyweds received Holy Communion before departing for their honeymoon, while the congregation continued with a love feast and traditional Korean New Year customs. The Metropolitan also discussed plans for the Metropolis to engage more systematically with social networks to spread Orthodox witness in Korean society.
