On the 14th of January 2025, a special Divine Liturgy called “Parrhesia” was held at the Most Holy and Life-Giving Tomb in celebration of the feast of the Circumcision of the Lord and the commemoration of Saint Basil the Great. The liturgy was presided over by His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos, and attended by other esteemed religious figures.
After the Divine Liturgy, a procession around the Holy Tomb took place, with the relic of the right hand of Saint Basil the Great being carried in solemn procession. Following this, the traditional Vasilopita (New Year’s cake) was cut and shared amongst the attendees.
In the morning, His Beatitude cut the Vasilopita at the Patriarchal Office and distributed it to the Holy Sepulchre Fathers. Later in the day, a meal was shared with the Fathers, and His Beatitude blessed the gathering.
