Today, on November 8th, we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel with joy and reverence. Archbishop Ioannis of Zambia and Mozambique conducted an outdoor Divine Liturgy at his residence.
Special prayers were offered during the service for good weather and peace in Mozambique and around the world. The highlight of the Divine Liturgy was when Archbishop Ioannis laid the foundation stone for a new chapel dedicated to the Archangels Michael and Gabriel.
In his address, the Metropolitan emphasized the role of Angels in protecting and assisting humanity for the sake of salvation. He quoted Saint Paul and Saint John of Damascus to illustrate the humility and service of the Angels towards God and humanity.
Warm wishes were extended to those celebrating their feast day today in honor of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. May God’s blessings be upon all.
