The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew accepted an invitation from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) to join other religious leaders in Ankara on March 3, 2025.
During his visit, he participated in an Iftar dinner, a traditional meal held during Ramadan to break the daily fast. The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was also in attendance and delivered a speech.
The Ecumenical Patriarch conveyed his best wishes to the President and all Muslims in Turkey for the holy month of Ramadan.
The dinner was well-attended by guests, including foreign ambassadors, diplomats, and notable political and social figures.
Accompanied by Metropolitan Andreas of Saranta Ekklisies, the Ecumenical Patriarch returned to Constantinople the same day.
