The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is traveling to Ankara today, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He will be attending the reception for the country’s National Day at the Beştepe Presidential Palace along with other religious leaders.
Accompanying the Ecumenical Patriarch during this visit to the capital will be Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos, the Abbot of the Holy Trinity Monastery of Halki.
Earlier in the morning, the Patriarch visited the city’s Governor’s Office to congratulate the Governor on the National Day. He was joined by leaders of other Christian denominations and religions, the Consular Corps, and representatives of various high-level services and institutions of Constantinople.
