Today, under the leadership of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the Church of the Resurrection of Christ was commemorated on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Chapel of the School.
This day also marks the anniversary of the inauguration of the Theological School by Patriarch Germanos IV in 1844. Matins and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated, followed by a memorial prayer by the Patriarch for the founders, benefactors, renovators, overseers, deans, professors, tutors, students, and alumni of the School.
The service was attended by various Hierarchs, including Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Elder Apostolos of Derkoi, and other distinguished guests. The Patriarch highlighted the history and importance of the School in his address, expressing hope for its reopening. Presentations were also made on the founding and historical context of the School.
A commemorative photo was taken at the school entrance, followed by a festive meal blessed by the Patriarch.
