With the generous contributions of faithful Orthodox believers, the construction of the Church of St. Marina and St. Catherine in Roskovec, Fier, continues to progress despite financial challenges.
Metropolitan Nicholas of Apollonia and Fier remains unwavering in his faith, echoing the words of the late Archbishop Anastasios: “God will not abandon us!” The foundation stone was laid on January 21, 2025, and the Orthodox community is determined to see the project to completion.
A statement from the Metropolis of Apollonia and Fier underscores the need for collective support: “We cannot build this Church without the support of all.”
The announcement also recognizes the significant financial obstacles that have arisen, especially following the passing of Archbishop Anastasios, who was a key spiritual and financial supporter of the project.
“With God’s grace and your assistance, we aim to finish this important spiritual and historical endeavor. We humbly request your help, your donation, and your contribution, based on your means. Every contribution is vital in the construction of this Church,” the statement emphasizes.
For over three decades, Archbishop Anastasios dedicated himself to the restoration and construction of numerous churches in Albania, overcoming various challenges in funding. His legacy of faith and perseverance continues to inspire those involved in completing this sacred mission.
