One on his wrist reads “Never Forget,” while another on his chest says “Love Wins” in Hebrew. He said the healing concert was a powerful experience for him.
“It’s a way for us to come together, to remember those we lost, and to show that we are still here, still strong,” Yochananof said. “We will never forget, but we will also never let hate win.”
The healing concert concluded with a moment of silence for the victims of the Oct. 7 massacre, followed by a rendition of “Hatikvah,” Israel’s national anthem. As the crowd joined in singing, tears mixed with smiles as a sense of unity and resilience filled the air.
Organizers of the event said they hoped it would mark a new chapter for the Tribe of Nova, one of healing, strength, and a commitment to never letting fear or hate triumph.
As attendees filtered out of HaYarkon Park, some holding hands, others wiping away tears, the message was clear: despite the darkness of the past, there is always hope for a brighter tomorrow.
And as the last notes of music faded into the night, the spirit of the Tribe of Nova lived on, stronger than ever.
Yochananof and his sister were actively involved in volunteering at the event, cutting watermelons and distributing water to attendees.
Mona Chen-Tov, a dedicated trance music fan in her sixties, sported a yellow blacklight tattoo on her forearm commemorating the date of the Hamas attack. She was seen dancing and handing out handwritten notes at the concert, a gesture reminiscent of her actions at the Oct. 7 Nova party.
Several other attendees, such as Alejandro Lopez and Elad Jolles, also displayed tattoos featuring the date and logo of the Nova festival. Jolles described the tattoo as a significant milestone in moving forward from the tragic event.
Omer Shitrit showcased a tattoo inspired by the Marvel character Groot as a tribute to his late friend Segev Shoshan, who was killed alongside his girlfriend Anita Lisman during the attack. Shitrit, a photographer like Shoshan, has been documenting trance parties since the incident to honor their memory and show resilience. “We’re demonstrating our strength and determination to persevere,” he expressed.
