Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the first Sunday of Holy and Great Lent, known as the Sunday of Orthodoxy, at the Church of St Panteleimon and St Paraskevi in London on Sunday, 9th March 2025.
Also present were Protopresbyter Konstantinos Papageorgiou, Priest-in-charge; Archdeacon Dr George Tsourous; and Deacon Charalambos Clark.
Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Mayors of Barnet Cllr Tony Vourou and Harrow Cllr Salim Chowdhury were among the attendees at the Divine Liturgy.
The traditional Sunday of Orthodoxy procession of the Holy Icons occurred at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, where the faithful honored the victory of Orthodoxy and celebrated the unity and cultural heritage of the Orthodox Christian community in London.
