The Church of the Holy Trinity at the Theological School of Halki celebrated Holy Spirit Monday, June 24, with solemnity and devotion. Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria presided over the Orthros and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on behalf of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
Archbishop Nektarios of Anthidon, Commissioner of the Holy Sepulchre, the Abbot Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos, a group of graduates of the Theological School led by Professor Nikolaos Xexakis, President of the Theological Center of Halki in Athens, clergy and monks, as well as believers from the Princes’ Islands, Constantinople, and Greece, attended the service.
During the reception held in the Great Synodikon of the School, the Abbot addressed the attendees, reflecting on the significance of the day’s feast and showcasing the extensive renovation of the School’s building complex, generously sponsored by the Archon Exarch of the Holy Great Church of Christ, Athanasios Martinou. Professor Xexakis and Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria also offered greetings. Metropolitan Maximos conveyed the wishes of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and spoke about the “spirit of Halki,” emphasizing its role in fulfilling the Ecumenical mission of the Great Church.
