During the morning of Thursday, September 19, 2024, Mr. Franklin Aquilina, the Representative of Malta to the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, visited the Patriarchate.
He was warmly welcomed by Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, who shared insights into the Patriarchate’s extensive work in pastoral care, culture, and peace-building for the benefit of all Christians in the Holy Land.
As a gesture of goodwill, Patriarch Theophilos gifted Mr. Franklin Aquilina a stunning silver-plated painting of Jerusalem and an icon of the Theotokos.
Following this, Patriarch Theophilos held meetings with Franciscan priest Fr. Dobromir and Franciscan monk Fr. Athanasios Makora to discuss the Status Quo of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
To conclude his day, Patriarch Theophilos met with a group of priests and pilgrims from Romania, offering them his blessings.
