According to a decision made by the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church – Bulgarian Patriarchate, the relics of Saint Patriarch Euthymius of Tarnovo will be brought to Sofia. Bishop Sionii, the abbot of the Troyan and Bachkovo monasteries, will transport the relics to the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky.
The relics are scheduled to arrive on Saturday, June 29, at 11 o’clock. They will be placed near the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, providing an opportunity for the newly elected Bulgarian patriarch to pay his respects to his predecessor and seek his intercession and assistance.
On Monday, July 1, the relics will be available for the faithful to pay their respects and venerate at the Patriarchal Cathedral.
