On Saturday, May 18, 2024, a group of ten professors and students from the Orthodox Theological School of the Autonomous Church of Finland in Joensuu visited the Halki School of Theology. The delegation was led by Hieromonk Damaskinos Xenofontinos, a Finnish-born professor at the School, and Elder Michael Sidoroff, the Scholarch.
The visitors were warmly received in the Great Synod Hall by Bishop Kassianos of Arabissos, the Abbot of Halki, who welcomed them and spoke about the history and significant contributions of the School to the Orthodox Church and the broader inter-Christian community.
Following this, the Abbot welcomed a group of forty pilgrims from the parish of Zoodochos Pigi in Dafni, part of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, led by their parish priest, Fr. Simeon Synodinos.
Both groups were given guided tours of the nave of the Holy Trinity, the historic classrooms, and the renowned Library of the School, providing them with a deeper understanding of the rich heritage and educational legacy of the Halki School of Theology.
