In the esteemed presence of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, a significant ceremony took place at the University of Athens. The event marked the conferral of the title of Professor Emeritus to Professor Vlassios Io. Feidas, a respected member of the Theological School faculty.
The ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including hierarchs from Greece and abroad, academics, clergy, and members of the laity. Following a speech by Professor Gerasimos Siasos, the Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Associate Professor Ioannis Ant. Panagiotopoulos provided an overview of Professor Feidas’s distinguished contributions and character.
Later on, Professor Emmanuel Karageorgoudis, the Dean of the Theological School, read the Resolution and presented the honorary parchment to Professor Feidas. In appreciation of their support, an honorary plaque was also given to Rector Siasos.
The highlight of the ceremony was Professor Feidas’s address, titled “The Modern Ecumenical Perspective of the Multi-Ethnic Orthodox Diaspora.” His insightful speech captivated the audience, shedding light on current challenges and opportunities within the Orthodox community.
