On Saturday, July 6, 2024, the Patriarchal Commissioner, Metropolitan Elder Apostolos of Derkoi, welcomed Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus and a group of faithful from Cyprus to the Phanar. The group had recently completed a pilgrimage to Cappadocia and was now visiting the Churches and Byzantine monuments of Constantinople.
The Patriarchal Commissioner cordially welcomed the Archbishop and the group of pilgrims on behalf of the Ecumenical Patriarch, who is currently visiting northern Italy. At noon, he invited the Primate of the Church of Cyprus to attend a luncheon.
Upon his arrival at the Phanar, the Primate of the Church of Cyprus was received by members of the Patriarchal Court, headed by Grand Protosyncellus Gregory.
