On Sunday, June 23, 2024, the Patriarchate and the entire Church celebrated Pentecost, the day when the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the Disciples and Apostles by our Lord Jesus Christ from the Father.
During Pentecost, the Apostles spoke in different languages, proclaiming the greatness of God to the gathered crowds under the influence of the Holy Spirit. This led to the formation of the first Church, the Mother of all Churches, as described in the Acts of the Apostles.
A solemn Divine Liturgy was held at the Holy and Life-giving Tomb, led by His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, along with other high-ranking clergy. The service was attended by many faithful Christians and dignitaries.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the Vespers of the Monday of the Holy Spirit commenced, with prayers for the grace of the Holy Spirit to enlighten all present.
His Beatitude and other clergy members led the prayers, culminating in a gathering at the Patriarchate Reception Hall where blessings were extended to all.
