On the evening of Thursday, March 13, 2025, following the Great Compline in the Patriarchal Church, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided at the Trisagion Service for the repose of the soul of the late Metropolitan Anthimos, former Metropolitan of Thessaloniki.
He was surrounded by Hierarchs of the Throne, clergy of the Patriarchal Court and pilgrims from abroad, including groups of educators and students from Nea Penteli in Attica and Argolis, as well as a delegation of police officers from Karditsa and Trikala.
The Ecumenical Patriarch will be represented at the funeral of the late Hierarch by Metropolitan Panteleimon of Bryoula.
