The Karlovac Seminary celebrated its 230th anniversary with a Patriarchal Divine Liturgy and the sanctification of its renovated school chapel, dedicated to Saint Arsenius Sremac. Serbian Patriarch Porfirije led the ceremony, emphasizing the theological foundation of Christianity and the importance of prayer. In his homily, Patriarch Porfirije highlighted that Jesus Christ is the ultimate theologian, stating, “If you want to be a true theologian, pray truly and correctly,” emphasizing the deep connection between prayer and theology.
The Patriarch’s visit to this historic Serbian educational institution underscored the significance of the seminary’s contributions to Serbian Orthodox education and the spiritual life of the faithful. The renovation and rededication of the chapel, made possible with support from pious individuals and state institutions, added to the jubilation, ensuring the Karlovac Seminary remains a beacon of theological learning and spiritual growth for generations to come.
