An important Patriarchal Divine Liturgy is currently taking place at the Metropolitan Church of Agia Fotini in Nea Smyrni, Athens. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew has just arrived, joined by Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna, Metropolitan Theodoritos of Laodicea, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros, and Grand Ecclesiarch Aetios.
The Ecumenical Patriarch received a warm welcome from Metropolitan Symeon of Nea Smyrni and a large gathering of devoted followers. His visit to Nea Smyrni is in honor of the naming of a city square and the unveiling of a monument dedicated to Imbros and Tenedos.
