On December 27, 2024, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia met at the Patriarchal Court in Belgrade with Bishop Jovan of Pakrac and Slavonia, along with representatives of the clergy and laity of the Diocese of Slavonia.
During the cordial meeting, the guests provided the Patriarch with detailed updates on the preparations for the consecration of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Pakrac.
They also discussed plans for the commemorative celebration of the Holy New Martyrs of Jasenovac, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the closure of the Jasenovac system of concentration and death camps.
Attendees at the meeting included Archimandrite Pavle, Abbot of Orahovica Monastery; Abbess Serafima of Jasenovac Monastery; Jelena Milić, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Croatia; State Secretary Ivan Bošnjak; and Deputy Prefect of Požega County, Nikola Ivanović.
