On Friday, November 15, 2024, Patriarch Daniel of Romania welcomed Mr. Gudsi Osmanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Bucharest, during an introductory visit at the Patriarchal Residence.
During the meeting, Patriarch Daniel praised the ambassador’s extensive diplomatic and academic background and expressed gratitude for his visit.
Ambassador Osmanov, in turn, acknowledged the significant role of the Orthodox Church in Romanian society and highlighted the spiritual and cultural richness of the Romanian people.
Both parties discussed the strong friendship and cooperation between Romania and Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of further enhancing these relations in various fields.
Patriarch Daniel also emphasized the value of organizing pilgrimages for Romanian Orthodox believers to visit important religious, historical, and cultural sites in Azerbaijan.
As the meeting concluded, Patriarch Daniel wished Ambassador Osmanov success in his diplomatic mission in Romania.
