Patriarch Kirill of Moscow held a meeting with Simona Halperin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Russia, at the Patriarchal and Synodal Residence in Danilov Monastery, Moscow.
During the meeting, Patriarch Kirill highlighted the strong relationship between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Holy Land, extending to the State of Israel. He also emphasized the significant role of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, supporting Orthodox pilgrims and building relationships with religious communities in Israel.
Patriarch Kirill expressed his concerns regarding peace and security issues in the Holy Land, stating that it is a matter of concern for all those living in the region. He also acknowledged the historical and spiritual connection of the Russian people to the Holy Land, praising the efforts of Russian pilgrims throughout the centuries.
Ambassador Simona Halperin expressed her honor in meeting with the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, highlighting the warm welcome extended to pilgrims from the Russian Federation in Israel. She emphasized the importance of cooperation, friendship, and dialogue between the Russian and Israeli peoples and their religious communities.
