On Friday, November 15, 2024, Ambassador Daulet Yemberdiyev of Kazakhstan visited the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and awarded Patriarch Theophilus III with the prestigious First Order of Peace of the State of Kazakhstan.
This decoration was given on behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan to acknowledge the strong bond between the Patriarchate and the country, as well as Patriarch Theophilus’s significant contributions to interfaith, cultural, and peace-building dialogues.
In a sign of respect, Ambassador Yemberdiyev presented the Patriarch with a beautifully crafted traditional amphora.
