On the evening of Thursday, November 7, 2024, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, along with Fathers of the Holy Sepulchre, attended a meeting of leaders from the three major pilgrimage communities at the Monastery of the Custody of the Holy Land, overseen by the Franciscans.
The purpose of the gathering was to receive updates from expert technicians on the progress of essential maintenance work at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
The briefing covered critical repairs, including stabilizing foundations, reinforcing columns, preserving stones, and upgrading the drainage, electrical, and hydraulic systems in areas surrounding the Rotunda, the Stone of Anointing, and the church’s entrance gate.
