Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia has offered his heartfelt condolences to the Church of Albania and all those mourning the loss of the late Archbishop Anastasios of Albania.
In his message, the Patriarch praised Archbishop Anastasios as a truly distinguished leader of the Orthodox Church, highlighting his dedicated service to Christ and transformative leadership in Albania.
The Patriarch commended Archbishop Anastasios as an erudite servant of Christ, a reformer of the Church of Albania, a renowned theologian, and a peacemaker. He acknowledged Archbishop Anastasios’ contributions as a builder of churches and monasteries, as well as his establishment of key educational, social service, and youth centers.
The Patriarch also expressed his sympathy to the clergy, monastics, and people of Albania, offering prayers for Archbishop Anastasios’ eternal rest in the abode of the righteous.
