On September 28, 2024, Patriarch Daniil of Bulgaria welcomed students from the Professional School of Agricultural Mechanization “Peyo Yavorov” at the Holy Metropolis of Sofia. He also accepted an invitation to the P. Yavorov Church in Goce Delchev (Nevrokop).
The group, led by the school’s director, Angel Zhivkov, along with several teachers, was accompanied by Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop and the Secretary of the Holy Metropolis of Nevrokop, Georgi Kumbarov.
During a casual discussion with Patriarch Daniil, the students delved into various topics, such as the youth’s role in the Church, navigating a fulfilling Christian life in today’s society, the importance of Sunday worship and the Holy Eucharist, and drawing inspiration from the faith and love for God exhibited by the saints of their homeland.
Patriarch Daniil stressed that a meaningful and hopeful life is only achievable with God’s guidance through the Church. He reminded them of the words of God Himself, emphasizing the necessity of staying connected to God and living by Christ’s teachings. Unity within the Church, founded by God, is essential, encouraging mutual respect, patience, forgiveness, and correction, all while loving God and one another as He loves us.
The Patriarch blessed the students and teachers, presenting them with the booklet “For the Enlightenment of Learners” (published by the Holy Metropolis of Vidin in 2024) and icons of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary as tokens of prayerful remembrance and spiritual blessings.
