Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria attended the session of the National Assembly, where the election of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, the adoption of the government structure, and the appointment of the Council of Ministers were on the agenda.
Patriarch Daniel was accompanied by Bishop Gerasim of Melnik, the General Secretary of the Holy Synod.
Today, the National Assembly voted in favor of the nominated Prime Minister, Rosen Zhelyazkov, along with the proposed government structure and composition. The new structure includes 19 ministers, two of whom will also serve as vice prime ministers, and one vice prime minister without a portfolio.
Alongside the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, present at the session were the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, Vice President Iliyana Yotova, Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, ministers from the interim government, representatives of other religious denominations in the country, as well as representatives from various institutions and the diplomatic corps.
