Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East welcomed a joint delegation from Lebanon and Syria, led by Marwan Haidar, at the Patriarchal residence as part of continued engagement with the new political leadership in Syria.
During the meeting, the Patriarch underscored the significant historical role of the Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East within the Orthodox community, emphasizing its strong presence not only in the wider Eastern region but also specifically in Syria. He highlighted the Church of Antioch’s longstanding commitment to inclusivity and reaching out to all individuals, especially in this new era where there is a collective desire for a nation built on principles of citizenship, national harmony, and coexistence between Muslims and Christians. The delegation members, in turn, expressed their gratitude for the Church of Antioch’s pivotal role in fostering connections and dialogue among diverse groups.
