A consultative meeting was convened at the Patriarchal Monastery of St. George Al-Humayra in Wadi Al-Nasara in response to the ongoing developments in the region.
The Patriarch of Antioch held discussions with several Syrian metropolitans, including Metropolitan Basilios Mansour (Akkar), Metropolitan Nicolas Baalbaki (Hama), Metropolitan Athanasios Fahd (Latakia), Metropolitan Ephraim Maalouli (Aleppo), Metropolitan Gregorios Khoury (Homs), and Metropolitan Antonios Saad (Hauran).
The Patriarch and the metropolitans conducted a comprehensive review of the current situation in Syria, addressing the conditions of the dioceses and the challenges encountered by the faithful. The Patriarch also provided updates on his recent interactions with international envoys and other officials.
The discussions highlighted the Antiochian Church’s dedication to promoting unity, upholding the values of citizenship, and enhancing peaceful coexistence among all segments of Syrian society. The Church reiterated its commitment to collaborating with all stakeholders to uphold these principles amidst ongoing adversities.
