Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East recently held a meeting with Mr. Abdullah Dardari, the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General, Director of the United Nations Development Programme, and Head of the Regional Bureau for Arab States, at the Patriarchal Residence in Damascus.
The focus of their discussions revolved around the current situation in Syria, with an emphasis on the crucial need to provide support to the Syrian people across all communities and demographics through humanitarian aid and the removal of sanctions. Both parties highlighted the vital role of the international community in advancing these initiatives.
During the meeting, Patriarch John X and Mr. Dardari emphasized the importance of collaboration and solidarity in alleviating the challenges faced by the Syrian population and in promoting sustainable development and recovery in the region.
