Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa is scheduled to visit Rethymno from October 27 to October 29, 2024, in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Four Holy Martyrs.
The program will kick off on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., with the Patriarch’s reception at the Church of the Four Holy Martyrs. This will be followed by a Great Patriarchal Vespers service led by Patriarch Theodore II.
On Monday, October 28, 2024, at 7:00 a.m., the Matins service and the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy will take place at the Church of the Four Holy Martyrs, followed by a Thanksgiving Doxology for the National Anniversary and a parade. In the evening, at 5:00 p.m., a Festal Great Patriarchal Vespers service will be conducted, including a procession of the Holy Relics and significant icons presided over by the Patriarch.
Lastly, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at noon, a ceremony will be held at the Rethymno Town Hall to officially declare Patriarch Theodore II an Honorary Citizen of the Municipality of Rethymno.
