The Orthodox Church of Finland celebrated a significant moment with the enthronement of Archbishop Elia of Helsinki and All Finland. In a social media post, the Church announced, “Our church has entered the era of Archbishop Elia.”
A group photo captured the current leadership of the Church at the Uspenski Cathedral after the enthronement ceremony. Archbishop Elia, Metropolitan Arseni of Kuopio and Karelia, and Bishop Sergei of Hamina were present. Bishop Sergei will take on the role of acting Metropolitan of Oulu from January 1st.
