Patriarch Porfirije, while explaining the Gospel parable of the talents, emphasized the importance of recognizing and multiplying the gifts bestowed by God.
He reminded that nothing truly belongs to us, as everything comes from God and is entrusted to us to share and increase for the benefit of others. The Patriarch encouraged openness of heart and generosity, explaining that giving from what we receive ensures our spiritual salvation.
He further stressed that the gifts we have come with responsibility, effort, and service, not self-interest, and must be used to foster love and unity with God and others.
