According to the schedule published by the Patriarchate of Bulgaria, the name of the new Patriarch of Bulgaria will be announced on Sunday, June 30, at 14:30. This announcement will mark the election and enthronement of the successor to the late Patriarch Neofit.
The proceedings will commence on Saturday, June 29, with the registration of the representatives of the Patriarchal Electoral Assembly in the morning. In the afternoon, a solemn vespers service will be conducted at the Church of Hagia Sophia by Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop, in the presence of the Primates and representatives of the Autocephalous Churches.
On the morning of Sunday, June 30, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the representatives of the Orthodox Churches will be welcomed at the Church of Saint Kyriaki. A Trisagion service will then be held at the tomb of the late Patriarch Neofit.
Following the conclusion of the early morning Divine Liturgy, the voting process will take place between 09:15 and 12:00. The name of the newly elected Patriarch of Bulgaria will be announced at 14:30 on Sunday, June 30.
The newly elected Patriarch will be enthroned at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in the presence of the Metropolitans.
The candidates for the position of the new Patriarch include Metropolitans Grigory of Vratsa, Daniil of Vidin, and Gavriil of Lovchan.
