August 1, 2024 marked the end of the camping season for Middle and High School students, as the third and final session for Elementary School students began and lasted until August 6.
The camp focused on the theme of “come and see,” with morning Bible Studies, general speeches, and private discussions with campers. Participation in Holy Confession, the Divine Liturgy, and morning and evening Holy Services provided spiritual nourishment and protection against the challenges faced by adolescents.
Activities such as group games, daily meals, river swimming, and interpersonal communication helped strengthen the bonds between participants from diverse ethnic backgrounds including Korea, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Egypt. The Orthodox Church’s ecumenical nature united everyone as part of the Body of Christ.
During the closing ceremony, participants received a Holy Cross as a symbol of protection against temptation and a reminder of the importance of spiritual growth through struggle and sacrifice, emphasizing the message of “come and see.”
