On Tuesday, February 4, Metropolitan John of Zambia met with officials from the Greek Ministry of Education to finalize the enrollment program for students from Sub-Saharan Africa, Zambia, and Mozambique at the Gymnasium and Lyceum of Lamia “Saint Vissarion the Agathonite.”
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Giorgos Kalantzis and attended by representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Migration and Asylum, and other officials.
During the discussion, Metropolitan John updated the committee on the program’s progress, highlighting its successful implementation and positive outcomes. He also provided insights into the living and educational conditions of the students at the Model General Ecclesiastical Gymnasium-Lyceum of Lamia.
The Metropolitan expressed his gratitude to Metropolitan Symeon of Phthiotis, as well as representatives of the Municipality of Lamia and the Region of Phthiotis for their support in facilitating the program.
Following the meeting, Metropolitan John held discussions with Deputy Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, Zetta Makri, further reinforcing cooperation for the initiative’s successful continuation.
