Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia, while attending the Session of the Hierarchy of the Ecumenical Throne at the Phanar in Constantinople from September 1 to 3, 2024, had a meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on Monday, September 2, 2024.
During their discussion, Metropolitan Cleopas updated the Ecumenical Patriarch on the progress of his diocese and presented his recent study on the late Hieromonk Fr. Eusebius Vittis, titled “The Missionary Ministry of Archimandrite Eusebius Vittis in Scandinavia (1965-1980).” The Ecumenical Patriarch commended his efforts and dedication to preserving the legacy of Fr. Eusebius.
Furthermore, Metropolitan Cleopas shared details about his current project, which focuses on documenting the history of the Holy Metropolis, specifically its first five years since its establishment (1969-1974), and the contributions of its first hierarch, the late Metropolitan of Anea, Polyeuctos (Finfinis). The Ecumenical Patriarch blessed this important undertaking.
