Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia, along with Archimandrite Bartholomew Iatridis, visited the Greek Embassy in Sweden on Thursday afternoon, January 16, 2025. They were graciously invited by Ambassador Aikaterini Fountoulaki.
The visit included the service of the Great Blessing of the Waters by the Metropolitan, followed by the blessing and cutting of the Vasilopita. Holy water was sprinkled in the Ambassador’s office and throughout the Embassy premises, blessing all offices and staff members.
Two Vasilopitas were cut during the event, with Metropolitan Cleopas winning the first coin and Ambassador Fountoulaki receiving the second. This added a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
A small reception followed, where New Year well wishes were exchanged. Metropolitan Cleopas conveyed the Patriarchal blessings and best wishes from Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to all attendees.
