Metropolitan Panteleimon of Ptolemais, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, met with Archbishop George of Cyprus at his office in the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus on Monday, September 16, 2024. The meeting was part of the celebrations for the feast of Saint Herakleidios, to which Metropolitan Panteleimon was invited by Metropolitan Isaiah of Tamasos and Oreini.
During the meeting, Metropolitan Panteleimon conveyed Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria’s love and gratitude to the Church of Cyprus, highlighting the strong bonds of brotherhood and collaboration between the two Churches.
After the meeting, Metropolitan Panteleimon was given a tour of the late Archbishop Makarios III’s personal apartment within the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus. This visit emphasized the historical connections and shared heritage of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Church of Cyprus.
