On the sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost, October 13, 2024, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.
The Metropolitan was joined by Archbishop Agapit of Vyshgorod, the vicar of Zolotovercha Monastery, Bishop Ephrem of Vasylkiv, the brothers of the monastery, and invited clergy.
Following the Gospel reading, the Metropolitan delivered a sermon and offered a heartfelt prayer to the Lord for peace and protection, as Ukraine continues to face significant threats.
Prayers were also offered during the service for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the government and its people, and for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders and civilians who have perished during the ongoing conflict.
Additionally, Metropolitan Epifaniy ordained Volodymyr Gaponyuk, a graduate of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy, to the diaconate.
