Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and all Ukraine met on January 31, 2025, at his residence with Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The meeting was also attended by military chaplains of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Discussions focused on the ongoing struggle of the Ukrainian people against Russian occupiers, pastoral care for soldiers defending the homeland, the socio-political situation, and other matters of mutual concern.

The Primate of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine discussed cooperation in education, the development of Ukrainian science, spiritual and patriotic upbringing of youth, and countering hostile information influence.
