On the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost, September 29, 2024, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.
Before the service, the Metropolitan consecrated new antimensions.
The Divine Liturgy was concelebrated by Archbishop Matthew of Volodymyr and Novovolynsk, Bishop Yefrem of Vasylkiv, the brotherhood of the Golden-Domed Monastery, and other clergy.
After the reading of the Gospel, the Metropolitan delivered a sermon and offered a special prayer for Ukraine, especially during this time of national danger.
Prayers were also offered for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the government and the people, and for the repose of the souls of the fallen defenders and civilians who have died in the war.
In addition, Metropolitan Epifaniy ordained Hierodeacon Myliy (Bondarchuk) to the priesthood and Oleh Seleduiev, a graduate of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy, to the diaconate.
