On April 7, 2024, Metropolitan Epiphany of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy in the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv on the third Sunday of Great Lent, known as the Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross.
Accompanied by Metropolitan Evstratiy of Bilotserkiv, Bishop Efrem of Vasylkiv, monastery brothers, and clergy members, the head of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine delivered a sermon after the Gospel reading. He also offered a special prayer for the country’s well-being during this time of national peril.
Prayers were dedicated to the Ukrainian soldiers protecting the nation, the government, and the people of Ukraine. Additionally, remembrance was given to the souls of all fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians who have lost their lives in the ongoing conflict.
