On October 10, 2024, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv visited Kharkiv National University, one of Eastern Europe’s oldest academic institutions, founded in 1804. Accompanied by Archbishop Mytrofan of Kharkiv and Slobozhansky, Metropolitan Epifaniy met with university administration and students during his visit.
Key topics of discussion included the importance of independence, the role of interfaith and interreligious relations, and the value of unity in facing contemporary challenges. The dialogue also addressed the necessity of collective opposition to harmful forces in society.
The meeting concluded with a Q&A session, during which Metropolitan Epifaniy responded to questions from faculty and students. Vice-Rector for Research and Teaching, Anatoliy Babichev, expressed gratitude to the Metropolitan for his thought-provoking address and meeting with Ukraine’s younger generation.
