Metropolitan John of Zambia and Mozambique visited the Child Jesus Cathedral in the Diocese of Lusaka on February 27, where he had a meeting with Dr. Alick Banda, Archbishop of Lusaka.
During their meeting, the two religious leaders discussed the upcoming official visit of a delegation from the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO) scheduled for April in Zambia. The focus of their discussion was on the preparations for the conference, which will address intercultural dialogue on people, race, and religion to promote global peace.
Furthermore, Metropolitan John and Archbishop Banda explored potential areas of collaboration between the Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church to enhance their service to the people of Zambia. They emphasized the importance of Christian unity and joint efforts in promoting spiritual and social well-being in the region.
